Emma Stone’s movie, Bugonia, which is now streaming on Netflix, has been in discussion as few fans think the movie deserved an Oscar award.
It is to be noted that the film, directed by Yorgos Lanthimos, stars the La La Land heroine and Jesse Plemons.
The project is a remake of the Korean film named Save the Green Planet! which follows the story of two explorers who kidnap a high-powered CEO, thinking she is an Alien.
Now, although the movie has been praised for the story-telling, acting and direction, fans are still confused about why it failed to receive recognition from award shows like Oscar.
Claiming it as their “favourite” piece, the supporters of the actress also recommended others to stream it on Netflix.
Few also pointed out how the Spider-Man star was also not able to bring an award home and wondered if it was because she already has seven Oscar awards and now, they wanted to focus on rising stars.
Notably, the crew of Bugonia were omitted from the nominations for Best Actor or Best Direction, as infuriating fans described it as the “Academy’s failure” to see the reasons behind the critical success of the movie.
For the unversed, the movie was available on the movie-watching platform from April 26, 2026.
