Diego Luna lands role in ‘Tangle’ live-action remake

Diego Luna, best known for his role in Andor, is set to star Tangled live-action version.

The Star Wars actor will star alongside Teagan Croft as Rapunzel and Milo Manheim as Flynn Ryder.

The hit 2010 animated film is a retelling of the Brothers Grimm fairytale story of Rapunzel, known for “let down your hair.”

The original film grossed over $591 million worldwide and spawned a Disney Channel series.

Michael Gracey will direct the feature from a screenplay by Jennifer Kaytin Robinson and Michael Montemayor. Kristin Burr will produce.

Filming is set to commence in Spain this June. A release date has not yet been announced.

While Luna has landed on the new role, His next film, which he directed and co-wrote, Ashes is adapted from an acclaimed Spanish-language novel. It will premiere at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival.

In addition to Manheim, Croft and Luna, Kathryn Hahn is starring as Mother Gothel.
