The US Vice President’s sprawling security detail in the Cotswolds sparked a wave of mockery after a 58-second clip showed what onlookers called a “ridiculous” motorcade rolling through narrow country lanes.
The viral post on X racked up 1.6M views and 40k likes, with one user begging America to “come and get Vance back” after he allegedly arrived with a 27-car entourage and staff asking locals for their social handles.
Alastair Campbell weighed in on The Rest Is Politics podcast, blasting the convoy as a status symbol.
“It was ridiculous,” he said, relaying a report that the procession needed an hour for a three-point turn on a tight road, plus an ambulance trailing behind.
“He’s only the [expletive] Vice President of America.”
