The Prince and Princess of Wales wish Anne, the Princess Royal on her 75th birthday
Prince William and Princess Kate made sure to celebrate Princess Anne as she marked her 75th birthday.
As the Princess Royal marked her milestone birthday on Friday, August 15, the Prince and Princess of Wales joined in on the Royal Family’s tributes, resharing her new official birthday portrait on social media.
“Wishing Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal a very Happy 75th Birthday!” William and Kate, both 43, wrote alongside the stunning portrait of William’s aunt, originally shared by King Charles and Queen Camilla.
The new portrait showed Anne in a striking royal blue dress with crisp white buttons, collars, and cuffs, standing by a window at her Gatcombe Park home. Photographer John Swannell captured the image last month at her Gloucestershire estate.
True to her no-nonsense nature, Anne reportedly told aides she only considers birthdays ending in a zero worth a fuss, “not the fives.”
Instead of grand events, she chose to spend the day privately with her husband of 33 years, Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence. The pair are believed to be enjoying their annual sailing holiday around the Western Isles of Scotland.
