Zara Tindall, Peter Phillips reveal mum Princess Anne's 'most annoying' habit

Princess Anne may be the royal family’s hardest-working member, but according to her kids, she’s also the ultimate know-it-all, in the best way. 

In a throwback interview marking Anne’s 70th, Zara Tindall and Peter Phillips praised their mum’s tireless dedication, and then cheekily confessed the one trait that drives them a little nuts.

“She’s like a sponge, it’s unbelievable, the information that’s stored in her brain,” Zara said, adding with a grin: “It’s incredible. Quite annoying, as well.” 

Peter agreed: “It is quite annoying, yes.”

The siblings also gushed over Anne’s hands-on grandma energy. 

She loves hosting Sunday lunches, watching the grandchildren ride and, as Peter joked, happily keeping the kids while their parents “pick them up later.”

Zara reflected on growing up without titles, a deliberate decision by Anne and Mark Phillips. 

“I’m very lucky my parents chose not to use the title. It gave us the freedom to build our own careers.”

The Princess Royal’s legendary bluntness also made the cut. 

Lord Sebastian Coe recalled Anne’s “seismic” role in winning London 2012, and a hot-mic quip after a long-winded meeting: “I think this person is probably the most stupid person in world sport.” 

The line echoed around the room; Anne didn’t flinch.
