The Royal Family is making sure Princess Anne feels celebrated even after a recent slip-up.
One day before the Princess Royal’s milestone 75th birthday on Friday, August 15, Buckingham Palace shared a heartwarming vintage video on Instagram featuring sweet glimpses from Anne’s childhood.
“Happy memories ahead of The Princess’s 75th birthday tomorrow,” the caption read.
The touching post followed an awkward moment for King Charles’s office, which was forced to remove his younger sister from the Royal Family’s website after a glaring error caught the attention of eagle-eyed royal watchers. The Palace had uploaded a page of “fun facts” about Anne to mark her birthday but mistakenly listed her as a “stepmother.”
Anne, mother to Peter Phillips and Zara Tindall, was described as having two stepchildren from her marriage to Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence — even naming them as Tom and Amy. Within hours, screenshots began circulating on social media, prompting the Palace to swiftly delete the page.
Alongside the video tribute, an official portrait was also released to mark the beloved royal’s birthday.
But in true Anne fashion, she has reportedly instructed her aides not to “make a fuss” over her big day, staying consistent with her no-nonsense, work-first approach to royal life.
