Liam Neeson recently appeared doubtful about another sequel to his film, The Naked Gun, despite positive reviews.

In conversation with Newsweek, the 73-year-old actor admitted that fans won’t be seeing him reprise his role as the comedic police officer.

He said, “I think it's a one-off, yeah. And if it succeeds, good,” and later added, “I think it's probably a one-off. Not that the experience wasn't great, it was. It was terrific.”

Notably, The Naked Gun earned more than $42 million at the box office and has achieved a 91% score on Rotten Tomatoes, making it the highest ever in the film's franchise.

Directed and written by Akiva Schaffer, the fourth instalment in the comedy police thriller series includes a star-studded cast: Liam Neeson, Pamela Anderson, Cody Rhodes, and Paul Walter Hauser.

Neeson portrays Franklin Deblin Jr, a police officer carrying on his father’s legacy as he tries to save the station from shutting down by solving a case.

Notably, the first Naked Gun film was released in 1988, which starred Leslie Neilson as the legendary cop, and the 2025 sequel was greenlit in 2022 after years of being delayed.

For the unversed, The Naked Gun came out in theatres on August 1, 2025.
