Queen Elizabeth's final straw with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle revealed

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Oprah Winfrey interview in 2021 reportedly left Queen Elizabeth II feeling “betrayed,” according to a royal insider.

After stepping down as senior royals in 2020, Harry and Meghan aired grievances about royal life, including allegations of racism and family tensions, in the explosive TV special, all while Prince Philip was gravely ill.

A former royal courtier told the Daily Beast: “Ultimately, the Queen felt betrayed by Harry. When he and Meghan attacked the institution she spent her life serving, that betrayal was complete… It was shocking to those who knew him.”

The interview aired on March 7, 2021; Prince Philip died just over a month later, on April 9.

Buckingham Palace issued a rare statement in response, saying: “The whole family is saddened… While some recollections may vary, they are taken very seriously and will be addressed privately.”

The former staffer added: “The allegations of racism dismayed the Queen. Casting suspicion on everyone was unforgivable in her eyes. It was a horrific series of betrayals at the end of her life.”

This revelation adds to ongoing tensions between the Sussexes and the Royal Family.
