Meghan Markle accused of 'engineering' marriage to Prince Harry in new claims

Meghan Markle’s fairytale romance with Prince Harry may not have been as organic as it appeared, at least according to bombshell claims from one of Queen Elizabeth II’s closest confidantes.

Lady Elizabeth Anson, the late Queen’s cousin, reportedly revealed to royal biographer Sally Bedell Smith that the Queen harboured doubts about Meghan’s motives in the run-up to the couple’s 2018 royal wedding.

Anson alleged that Harry, now 40, had even been “rude” to the Queen during discussions about his wedding plans.

While many hoped that Meghan, 43, was truly in love with the Duke of Sussex, Anson claimed that royal circles believed otherwise.

“There was hope she was in love, but we didn’t quite think it,” Anson reportedly said. “We think she engineered it all.”

These claims add fuel to the ongoing drama surrounding the Sussexes’ royal exit and strained family relationships.

Neither Meghan nor Harry has publicly commented on these latest revelations, but the allegations come amid continued scrutiny over the couple’s time as working royals and their highly publicized move to California in 2020.
