Meghan Markle’s latest venture, her As Ever rosé, has already sold out, but early reviews suggest it may not live up to the hype.
The Daily Mail’s New York team sampled the Duchess of Sussex’s new wine and didn’t hold back in their verdict.
Reporter Jane Herz wrote: “Our first sip left a lot to be desired… it honestly didn’t taste like much.”
Despite the rosé being described on its bottle as having “soft notes of stone fruit, gentle minerality, and a lasting finish,” Herz’s team found it to be “bland, almost watery” and noticeably acidic.
One taster even reported an “uncomfortable sensation” at the back of their throat after swallowing.
While Meghan’s As Ever wine sold out in under an hour, with three bottles retailing at $90, the review concluded it felt “commonplace… like a wine you would be served at a work happy hour.”
Still, Meghan celebrated the sellout on Instagram, writing: “Still soaking it in, feeling endlessly grateful. Cheers to what’s ahead!”
