Prince William has broken one of his family’s cherished traditions following a whirlwind week of royal engagements.
The Prince of Wales, 43, and Princess Kate, 43, have long prioritized quality time with their children, Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, seven, especially during school breaks.
The couple traditionally step back from royal duties when school holidays begin, focusing on family life away from the public eye.
But this year, William and Kate delayed their usual retreat as royal commitments took priority. Lambrook School broke up for summer last week, yet the royal parents remained firmly in the spotlight.
William and Kate played prominent roles in the French state visit, greeting President Emmanuel Macron and First Lady Brigitte Macron, joining a grand carriage procession through Windsor and attending a lavish state banquet.
The very next day, Prince William jetted solo to Switzerland to cheer on the Lionesses at the UEFA Women’s Euro match, where England triumphed 4-0 over the Netherlands.
Today, William was back on the polo field at Guards Polo Club for the Royal Charity Polo Cup 2025.
It’s expected that the couple will now wind down their royal duties and finally take time to enjoy the summer break, including a likely family stay at Balmoral Castle in Scotland.
