Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been hit with stinging criticism as a royal expert branded them the “world’s most boring couple.”
Royal commentator Esther Krakue told The Sun that streaming giant Netflix will likely regret their multi-million-dollar deal with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, describing the couple as “boring and unprofitable.”
Since stepping back from royal duties in 2020, Harry and Meghan have produced several Netflix projects, including Harry & Meghan, Live to Lead, Heart of Invictus, Polo, and With Love, Meghan.
Their contract with Netflix is set to expire this year, prompting questions about the future of their partnership.
“I think Netflix are going to have to swallow the fact that they’ve invested in the world’s most boring and unprofitable couple,” Krakue said.
“Spotify realised quite early on and got out early.”
Krakue also questioned Meghan’s stake in her own ventures, suggesting that her lifestyle brand, As Ever, “wasn’t exactly a passion project” and that she has “little to lose” if it fails.
The harsh critique comes as speculation grows about whether Netflix will renew its deal with the Sussexes amid declining public interest.
