Queen Camilla performed a meaningful royal duty in Scotland as the royal family kicked off the annual Scottish tour, also known as "Royal Week" or "Holyrood Week."

On July 1, Buckingham Palace released a statement, sharing that the Queen took part in the opening ceremony of Ratho Library.

She also launched an exciting new partnership of Ratho Library with Edinburgh City Libraries, Paper Trails.

In the newly released video on the royal family's official Instagram page, Queen Camilla, who was dressed in a white and black polka dot dress, was seen interacting with the officials, young readers and children at the library.

The message alongside reads, "Paper Trails sees the Book Festival partner with five local libraries – Ratho Hub Library, Muirhouse Library, Liberton High School Library (opening in 2026), Streetreads, and the Mobile Library service – to develop programming tailored to each library’s specific user and community needs."

Speaking of the mission of Paper Trails, the Queen's spokesperson said, "From supporting young writers’ career development to creating intergenerational storytelling circles, and providing creative outlets for marginalised communities, Paper Trails aims to tackle social isolation by encouraging library use, developing creative skills, and highlighting libraries as essential spaces for creativity and community gathering."

After the Ceremony of the Keys, King Charles and Queen Camilla hosted a garden party at the Palace of Holyroodhouse on Tuesday.
