Hollywood and National Football League fans are rejoicing in unison after an exclusive first look at a Nicolas Cage and Christian Bale starrer movie was released.
On Tuesday, Amazon MGM Studios announced the production of Madden, which stars Cage as the iconic football coach turned announcer, John Madden, and Bale as the stylish owner of the Oakland Raiders, Al Davis.
The studio released the first image of the movie showing both actors in their respective characters, flashing their Super Bowl XI rings.
The biopic is directed by David O. Russell and includes a stellar cast to accompany Cage and Bale including Trip Hawkins, Sienna Miller and Kathryn Hahn.
The film likely follows Madden’s journey as a lifelong student of the game and how he teamed up with Davis to make the Raiders a prolific unit in the NFL.
Both legendary figures have since moved on to another realm, as Davis passed away at the age of 82 in 2011, while Madden met his maker in December 2021 at the age of 85.
Prior to working on Madden, Christian Bale starred in many of David O. Russell’s films including Amsterdam (2022), American Hustle (2013) and The Fighter (2010), which earned the actor his first Oscar.
