Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s future with Netflix is looking “far from encouraging,” according to a royal expert.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex signed a five-year deal with the streaming giant in 2020, reportedly worth £80 million. While their debut docuseries, Harry & Meghan, broke streaming records, their follow-up projects failed to make the same impact.

With the contract set to expire later this year, speculation is growing over whether Netflix will renew their partnership — and at what price.

Speaking to The Express, Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams believes the couple needs to “keep Netflix on board” to secure their media future.

“They have to get Netflix and have to keep them on board,” he told the outlet.

However, he suggested any potential renewal may be significantly smaller than their initial deal.

“I would be amazed if it was anything like what they planned when they first signed the £80 million,” Fitzwilliams explained. “Whatever contract comes up, it appears there’s going to be some sort of continuation, but it might be peanuts compared to the £80 million. Certainly for the Sussexes, it is far from encouraging.”

Despite mixed reviews, Meghan’s lifestyle show, With Love, Meghan, is set to return for a second season this fall. The duchess has also announced a podcast collaboration with Lemonada Media.
