Meghan Markle has once again found herself at the centre of controversy after royal watchers noticed an unexpected detail in her latest correspondence—her monogram still includes a crown.
The Duchess of Sussex recently sent a handwritten note to US influencer Amanda Hirsch, who had previously expressed skepticism about Meghan’s authenticity in her Netflix series With Love, Meghan.
After the show’s release, Amanda shared her thoughts online, writing: “You guys, I’m scared for Meghan.”
It seems Meghan took notice, responding with a personalized message that read: “Dear Amanda, I heard you were feeling scared. Don’t be. This is the fun part – let’s enjoy it.”
She signed the note "As ever, Meghan", a phrase now associated with her new lifestyle brand, As Ever.
While the message itself drew attention, it was the monogram at the top of the stationery that sparked outrage. Fans quickly pointed out that Meghan’s signature design still features a crown, despite her stepping down as a senior royal in 2020.
Taking to social media, critics didn’t hold back: “Why does her monogram have a crown? This woman loves cashing in on the Royal Family while hating them and everything they stand for. GROSS.”
“A crown, @Meghan? Really? [cry-laughing emoji] You’re in Cali, Meghan Markle! Stay cool, Amanda. [red heart emoji]", wrote another.
