Millie Bobby Brown, after huge success of Stranger Things, is back on streaming network.
The Electric State became the most expensive Netflix original as the platform invested a hefty amount of $320 million, working for seven years with Marvel filmmakers to bring the idea to live.
However, the movie could not produce the desired result as it scored only 18% on Rotten Tomatoes after initial reviews poured in.
The new project has been criticised as Variety pointed out “a clear lack of interest” in the making, while The Guardian argued that the picture lacked originality, “just a great big multicolour wedge of digital content.”
Fans on the other hand flocked to X (formerly Twitter) to pen their varied opinions, with one saying that it is “absolutely not the disaster some are making it out to be.”
Another appreciated the visuals of the new film, “exciting action sequences and a theme that’s on point.”
However, a third user did not find it amusing, noting “THE ELECTRIC STATE was fine… Just okay.”
The mixed reviews on the motion picture came after the English actress faced backlash for dressing too mature of her age as she appeared on the premieres of the adventure-packed film.
The film, directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, revolves around Michelle, starring Millie, who joined hands with Chris Pratt to look for her younger brother after a robot war ravaged the retro-futuristic world of 90s.
