Ariana Grande, Ethan Slater ask for public approval after affair exposed

Ariana Grande and Ethan Slater are letting the backlash change their feelings towards each other.

According to reports, the twosome met on the set of the upcoming film Wicked, while both of them were married to their respective partners.

In July it was reported the Thank u, next singer had already separated from her former husband Dalton Gomez when they began a relationship.

Meanwhile, Slater’s wife claimed she was left blindsided by the affair.

“While this entire situation has been blown out of proportion, it’s much different than what has been portrayed in public,” a friend of the couple told People.

“They are just trying to navigate their new relationship in private,” they noted.

“People have tried to question the timeline,” the insider continued. “The truth is, Ariana and Ethan didn’t begin seeing each other until after both parties were separated, respectfully.”

Another source insisted, “They are doing their best to balance the fact that they are in the public eye with the desire to be respectful to all parties involved.”

Slater also shares an infant son with his estranged wife, Lilly Jay.

As for the reason behind the couple’s split, sources revealed Grande and Gomez were struggling to keep their relationship at bay while doing long distance.

"She was happy in Los Angeles for a couple of years. She wanted to make a life there with Dalton," the source said. "He is super focused on his career and needs to live in Los Angeles. It's definitely been an issue for them. Dalton's career is demanding and he can't leave Los Angeles often. So when [Grande] started filming Wicked in England, they were in for a long-distance marriage."
