Meghan Trainor on hidden struggles in marriage with Daryl Sabara

Meghan Trainor is sharing insight into her marriage with Daryl Sabara, highlighting how they dealt with relationship struggles during a busy personal and professional period.

The 33-year-old singer, who is preparing to release her seventh studio album Toy With Me, confessed that she was attending both individual and marriage counselling while working on the project.

In an interview with Us Weekly, she stated, “I was in heavy therapy,” adding that the experience ran alongside her creative process in the studio.

She continued, "I was in marriage counselling while doing this album. We learned [that having kids from] one through five, your marriage gets pushed to the side, and then you're like: 'Why are we fighting? We're on the same team.'"

Moreover, she added, "We started marriage counselling because we realised when we were even having little, tiny arguments we were living in full different realities. We would even say in our fights, ‘Hey, we're not even fighting about the same thing.’"

Reflecting on what they learned, she noted, “You just can't hold anything in because it builds resentment, and resentment is a relationship killer. Now we can look at each other and read each other's minds. We never bicker anymore, and we're always there for each other on a different level.”

For the unversed, Meghan Trainor and Daryl Sabara tied the knot in 2018 and share three children together.
