Meghan Trainor responds after unexpected fallout from Ashley Tisdale essay

Meghan Trainor has addressed the growing online chatter after she was unexpectedly pulled into a “toxic mum group” saga involving Hollywood friendships and alleged falling-outs, insisting she was never part of any drama.

The All About That Bass singer found herself trending on social media after Ashley Tisdale wrote candidly about stepping away from a group of mum friends she described as showing “mean-girl behaviour” in a personal essay. 

Fans quickly began speculating about who might have been involved, with Meghan’s name unfairly dragged into the conversation.

However, the 32-year-old singer has firmly shut down the rumours, explaining that the situation was nothing more than a misunderstanding fuelled by social media speculation. 

Speaking in an interview, she admitted she was never actively part of the group due to her busy family life with husband Daryl Sabara and their three young children.

“I was a bad mum friend — I never went,” she said honestly, adding that she missed so many gatherings that the group eventually continued without her. 

“That was totally fine. I didn’t feel bad.”

The singer said she was stunned when she suddenly saw her name being linked to the drama online. 

“I was like, ‘Wait a second, I’m not even there!’” she laughed, recalling viral posts and TikToks suggesting she had been involved.

Despite the speculation, Meghan revealed there is no bad blood between anyone involved. 

Ashley later reached out to apologise for the confusion after realising Dear Future Husband hitmaker had been unintentionally pulled into the narrative.

Meghan responded warmly, saying: “It’s all right, girl. The world’s a silly, crazy place.”

The 40-year-old actress’s original essay described feelings of exclusion within a close mum circle, but both stars have now made it clear the situation stemmed from miscommunication rather than conflict.
