James Hetfield and Francesca tied the knot in 1997 and dated for 5 years before that. They also have three kids together, daughter Cali, who is 24, daughter Marcella aged 20 and a son Castor, 22 years old.

The separated exes are still in contact for the betterment of their children.

James Hetfield once had anger and alcohol issues, and he credits his due-soon ex-wife for helping him face his problems.
