Elton John, Benny Andersson unite to recreate viral TikTok mashup of their songs

Elton John and Benny Andersson of ABBA joined forces to recreate a live rendition of a viral mashup of their songs.

A TikTok audio blending Elton's 1974 hit Bennie And The Jets with ABBA's 1979 track Chiquitita has become the recent orchestration for many popular videos on the platform.

In a TikTok video posted on both the artists’ accounts, John and Andersson were filmed playing their respective sequences on a grand piano.

The clip began with Bennie playing the opening sequence of Chiquitita with the camera then switching to Elton as he played the opening of Bennie and the Jets while smiling at the camera.

ABBA’s account captioned the video: “Heard that Chiquitita was trending again…with @EltonJohn!”

Meanwhile, Elton wrote: “Heard about this little mashup of Bennie and the Jets with @ABBA and had to get involved.”
