Conor McGregor is fighting his way into Hollywood.
According to an announcement from Amazon Studios on Twitter, McGregor will play the lead role in a "Road House" adaptation. Jake Gyllenhaal, who will portray the lead role in the most recent adaptation of the 1980s action movie, will co-star with him in the film.
According to the press release, the film will center on Dalton, a former UFC fighter who accepts a position as a bouncer at a roadhouse in the Florida Keys and "soon discovers that not everything is what it seems in this tropical paradise."
Although McGregor's persona hasn't been revealed yet, it's anticipated that he won't be playing himself.
Billy Magnussen, Daniela Melchior, Gbemisola Ikumelo, and Lukas Gage are also featured in the cast. The first film, which starred Patrick Swayze and was directed by Rowdy Herrington, was released in 1989.
