Dolly Parton extends support for Britney Spears while recalling her own struggles

Dolly Parton is Team Britney.

Country star Dolly Parton opened up about her thoughts regarding the famous conservatorship fight that involves pop star, Britney Spear. During a conversation with Andy Cohen on his show, Watch What Happens Live, the host asked for Jolene hitmaker's thoughts on Britney’s situation.

"I try to not get involved in other people's business. I think she is a wonderful artist and I think she's a wonderful girl. And I only wish her the best," Dolly responded to the question.

Despite her principles, Dolly sympathized with Britney while thinking about her own struggles and further added, "I understand all those crazy things. I went through a lot of that myself through a big lawsuit in my early days with Porter Wagoner trying to get out on my own," she explained. "I understand where she is coming from and how she feels. So, I hope that all turns out the way that it should."

Dolly’s mention of the lawsuit referred to her music partner Porter Wagoner, a country singer and host, with whom Dolly signed to be partnered with during the early days of her career. When she decided to go solo, Porter sued her for breach of contract, and it resulted in a lengthy six-year battle,

Dolly is not the first person to come forward with her support for Britney Spears. Previously, Christina Aguilera, Iggy Azalea, Madonna, Rosie O’Donnell, Kim Kardashian are amongst the few who raised their voices in support of the pop star’s freedom.
