Drummer Joey Jordison passes away at 46

Joey Jordison, the founder and former drummer of band Slipknot died peacefully in his sleep on Monday, at the age of 46.

According to a family spokesperson, the actual reason behind Joey’s death is not yet confirmed, but his sudden death has left his family members in deep sorrow.

A statement obtained from Jordison’s family via Rolling Stone revealed, “Joey’s death has left us with empty hearts and feelings of indescribable sorrow. To those that knew Joey, understood his quick wit, his gentle personality, giant heart, and his love for all things family and music. The family of Joey have asked that friends, fans, and media understandably respect our need for privacy and peace at this incredibly difficult time.”

A private funeral service will be held and will be attended by Jordison’s close family and friends.

Jordison was the founder of the band in the year 1995, and drummer Shaul Crahan and bassist Paul Gray both released their first commercially hit, self titled album.

The album made charts globally and sold millions of copies worldwide.

For those unversed, Joey Jordison had been dismissed from the band as he was suffering from transverse myelitis, a neurological condition that prevented him from drumming like he did in the past.
