Tina Fey has recently made bold declaration about Tom Brady and other athletes in a candid interview.
The comedian opens up about working with Tom, who hosted an episode of the sketch comedy in 2005 during an appearance with Damian Holbrook at HISTORYTalks in Philadelphia on April 18.
“The thing about Tom and so many other athletes, we always would say at SNL that athletes make the best hosts because one, nothing is at stake for them, like they don't care if it goes well, they're not trying to get a movie out of it, two, they're coachable,” explains the 30 Rock actress.
Elsewhere in the interview, Tina, who began as a writer on Saturday Night Live in 1997, points out that athletes take the feedback in positive manner unlike Hollywood stars who don’t respond to any advice.
“You can go up to an athlete host and be like, ‘Yeah, do that faster.' They're like, ‘Yes, ma'am,’” mentions the 55-year-old.
Tina notes, “You can't go on to like an Oscar-winning film actor and say like, '[Be] faster.’”
The comedian adds that the athletes “also understand that state of relaxed readiness that helps during a live show”.
“They are just kind of chill,” states Tina, as she believes that the athletes’ game-plan for big games is like how comedians prepare for the show.
“In my mind, I’m Tom Brady,” she remarks.
