Emily Blunt opened up about feeling intimidated by Meryl Streep during the filming of The Devil Wears Prada.

Blunt starred as Emily Charlton, the senior assistant to Miranda Priestly (Streep).

During the conversation with SiriusXM Front Row, along with her cast mates, she admitted that Streep was a little too “in the zone” during The Devil Wears Prada.

The Oppenheimer star recalled being “quite scared” while working on the original film.

Blunt shared, “She was in a Miranda zone,” to which the Mamma Mia! actress said, “Oh, yeah. I was in that zone.”

The Mary Poppins artists further said about Streep’s behaviour, “not impenetrable, but we could come up and tell you a funny story, but you wouldn't do your extraordinary laugh that I normally heard.”

In the upcoming sequel, Emily Charlton is now a formidable rival to her former boss, Miranda Priestly.

While Miranda struggles with the decline of traditional magazines publishing, Emily controls the massive advertising budgets of a luxury group that Runway magazine desperately needs to survive.

The Devil Wears Prada 2 is slated for release on May 1.
