Emily Blunt revisits iconic 'Devil Wears Prada' role with 'very prominent memories'

Emily Blunt has opened up about the lasting impact of her breakout role in The Devil Wears Prada.

The 43-year-old actress admitted that she still carries “very, very prominent memories” from filming the 2006 hit.

Emily, who played sharp-tongued Emily Charlton, says the experience remains one of the defining moments of her career.

And now she’s stepping back into those iconic heels for The Devil Wears Prada 2.

Speaking to Extra, she said the original film shaped her both professionally and personally. 

“I feel like the first one, I have lasting, very, very prominent memories of it and such an informative time in my life,” she shared warmly.

Reuniting with Anne Hathaway has also been a highlight. 

A Quiet Place actress described her co-star as a “great dance partner” on set, praising her playful, spontaneous acting style. 

“She’s very spontaneous. She’ll sort of go with whatever you want to do,” she added.

Stanley Tucci, who also returns for the sequel, echoed the sentiment about the long-awaited reunion. 

“To be able to have that same core group of people together after 20 years is kind of amazing,” the 65-year-old said, adding that the film’s cult status became clear when fans kept approaching them over the years.

Meanwhile, Anne has admitted she felt the “pressure” of expectations while filming the sequel, but insisted she stayed grounded thanks to the returning team and shared history.

She also reflected on the franchise’s global impact, saying fans across the world, from New York to Seoul, have told her the film inspired them to dream bigger.
