Jake Shane shares honest truth about interviewing A-Listers

Jake Shane, known for his Therapuss podcast, has admitted that speaking with major celebrities still leaves him rattled, even after building a high profile guest list since launching in January 2024 and later joining Netflix’s podcast roster in February 2026.

In a recent conversation with Role Model for Interview magazine, the 26-year-old reflected on his nerves around interviews, particularly when meeting Lorde.

He said, “I’ll settle eventually. I was pretty nervous for Lorde.”

He also recalled a chance early meeting with the singer at a restaurant during Role Model’s birthday celebrations.

“Love her,” he emphasized.

Ahead of her podcast appearance, his excitement reached another level. “This is a 911. Lorde is coming in on Saturday. I'm sick about it and cancel your plans.”

Lorde later appeared on Theapuss on June 4, 2025, where Shane told her, “I love you,” he said. “I really do.”

Shane has also spoken about how pop culture became an emotional anchor during his OCD diagnosis, saying in a Highsnobiety essay that female pop stars helped him cope with intrusive thoughts and hyperfixation.
