Meryl Streep opens up about exciting dream project with Martin Short

Meryl Streep teased at fun collaboration she wants to have with Martin Short following the end of Only Murders in the Building.

Streep and Short build a close friendship with each other on the set of Selena Gomez series and are now looking forward to more paired up.

While appearing on SiriusXM’s Andy Cohen Live, the Oscar-winning actress, when asked if she has any plans of returning to Broadway, she said, “Oh, I would love to do so. I was talking with Marty Short about that.”

The Mamma Mia! actress has been involved in several Broadway productions between 1975 and 1977.

She added, “We were thinking that would be fun to do something together.”

While nothing official is in development, Streep’s comments suggest she and Short, had a great time working together on Only Murders in the Building.

Short has previously praised his Oscar-winning co-star for her demeanour on set, sharing what might surprise fans most about working with her.

“I think just how easy she is, how loose she is,” he told Entertainment Tonight. “She doesn’t carry any of her 21 Oscar nominations to the set.”

Only Murders in the Building all five season are now streaming on Hulu/Disney+.
