Sydney Sweeney offers bizarre explanation for R rated role in 'Euphoria'

Sydney Sweeney, who is embroiled in several controversies, addressed the chatter around her role of Cassie Howard in Euphoria.

The 28-year-old actress played a high school student who turns in to an OnlyFans model towards the finale of the show.

The Anyone But You star defended her character, explaining that Cassie “has this need to be loved.”

According to her, the ignorance led her to become an adult star as she “doesn’t know how to love herself unless someone else loves her.”

Sydney admitted she understands how Sam Levinson developed her character arc towards the third season. 

The idea of so many people loving her and knowing her got her “excited.”

While giving an interview to Vanity Fair, the Immaculate star shared that being popular got her “feeling like her world isn’t small.”

However, the creator of show was asked previously about adding nudity to her character to which he revealed that it was Sydney’s idea.

He shared in a separate interview that the actress was of the opinion: “I’m playing an OnlyFans model. You’re telling me you’re going to like, skirt around it.”

This came after the HBO series was heavily criticised for adding inappropriate themes to the final season, showing Cassie seemingly turn MAGA.
