Toy Story 5 cast recently drop bombshell claims about Taylor Swift’s song, I Knew It, I Knew You, in their latest media interaction.
The highly anticipated movie from Disney and Pixar entails Taylor’s new song, which she wrote and produced alongside Jack Antonoff specially for the upcoming project.
For the unversed, the track is inspired by cowgirl Jessie, voiced by Joan Cusack, which was released on Friday, June 5.
However, the cast members reveal that they didn’t know Taylor’s song was part of the movie.
In his latest interview with Entertainment Tonight, Tom Hanks, who voices Woody, admits that they all found out about Taylor’s track three hours ago.
To this, Joan and Tony Hale chime in and agree with the Forrest Gump actor.
Tom further says that it was “top secret and there was a huge chunk of movie that we do not see until they decide to show it to us during our recording sessions”.
When ET host asked about a decoy version of the movie to keep the secret, Greta Lee, who voices Lilypad, mentions that they “screened it together for the first time and that part was a secret”.
Tim Allen, who voices BuzzLightyear, also get involved in the discussion, noting that the “first soundtrack I sang it a cappella and they used that because of my opera background”.
Before concluding, Tom tells ET that Disney production has kept it a secret.
“It was HUGE! Massive!” adds the Cast Away actor.
Earlier, Thomas Jordan, Toy Story 5 VFX supervisor, spoke to Variety and disclosed that only a small group of people knew about Taylor’s song which she wrote in February.
He pointed out that Pixar “created a decoy version of the movie” so that the song didn’t get leaked.
“The crew that made Toy Story 5 did not know about this secret until last week,” stated Thomas.
Meanwhile, Toy Story 5 is set to release in theatres on June 19.
