Jack Innanen has addressed why he stepped away from a role in the upcoming second season of Heated Rivalry, offering insight into his decision during a recent appearance in New York.

The 27-year-old actor attended the premiere of Adults season 2 at the Tribeca Film Festival, where he confirmed he was once approached for the sports drama’s new season but ultimately declined.

As per Just Jared, when host asked about the specific role, he said, “I can’t [say].”

He went on to speak positively about the project and its creative team, saying,

“I think it’s such an incredible show, and it didn’t work out. But I love Jacob, I love everyone involved."

“I’m just, I’m excited to see what they do for the second season,” he added.

Reports earlier revealed that he exited due to scheduling conflicts, rather than creative differences.

Meanwhile, the second season of Heated Rivalry is expected to begin filming later this summer.

However, the series creator Jacob Tierney has also teased that the upcoming installment will expand beyond its central romance storyline.

“I don’t have my full plan worked out yet. When Shane and Ilya get married, like by Hayden’s kids, it’s like the cutest thing I’ve ever seen where of course I’m going to do that. So there’s a thing I can commit to,” he said in a previous interview with Pink News.
