George Clooney threw his support behind Callum Turner as a future Bond, while speculation continued over Daniel Craig’s replacement.

Speaking in his latest interview, the 65-year-old actor mentioned that the Masters of the Air actor would be a natural fit for the role.

In a June 10 interview with The Hollywood Reporter, he said, “I hope Callum ends up being the next Bond. I think he would be a great Bond.”

He added, “He’s tall and handsome and charming and British, so he’s the perfect guy to do it.”

Recalling their collaboration on The Boys in the Boat (2023), which he directed, the Ocean’s Eleven star praised the actor’s approach to choosing roles.

“He hasn’t just gone after the easy paycheques — he’s done really interesting work,” he noted.

However, the the London born actor has been widely mentioned in Bond casting discussions but remains guarded about the rumours.

“I know as much as you do — really, I know as much as you do,” he said, adding when asked about interest in the role, “I’m not going to comment on that.”

Addressing the ongoing speculation, Turner noted to the outlet, “It’s such a weird thing of something happening and nothing happening at all. I genuinely know nothing. I just find it quite amusing.”

Amazon MGM confirmed casting is underway for the next Bond film, directed by Denis Villeneuve.
