Callum Turner is reportedly the newest British star tied to the prestigious James Bond name, and it seems that the odds are in his favour.
The Masters of the Air actor is making rounds on the internet as the Dune director Denis Villeneuve’s top pick.
It seems that the Eternity star has not only been chosen by betting sites, with a source from Coral bookmakers.
ONe source went as far as to say “We’ve been knocked over with support for Callum Turner in our next James Bond betting over the last 24 hours, the British actor is now the red-hot favourite for the role.”
Callum has also been endorsed by British GQ, as the magazine maintains that he is made for the role, due to a combination of his acting credits and looks.
Internet users had mixed feeling over the news, with many pointing out that the creators have hinted at finding someone new to be the “fresh face” of 007.
“What happened to wanting an unknown actor?” one netizen wrote, with another adding, “Bond should be someone NOT famous ! Get a NEW FACE with no fandom !”
Notably, a number of actors have been asked about the role, such as Austin Butler, Glen Powell and other American actors saying that they would not consider themselves for the part.
Callum plays the character of Theseus Scamander in the Fantastic Beasts movies.
