Callum Vinson has landed on major role in upcoming God of War series.

The hugely successful video game franchise developed by Santa Monica Studio and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment (PlayStation), is set to adapted for a TV series by Amazon Prime Video.

As per Variety, the 12-year-old star is set to play the young god Atreus, starring opposite Ryan Hurst as his father Kratos.

As per the reports, the series will pick up with the story of the two most recent God of War games, in which Kratos must raise his ten-year-old son Atreus while battling god of Norse pantheon.

As per the log line, "Father and son Kratos and Atreus embark on a journey to spread the ashes of their wife and mother, Faye."

"Their adventures, Kratos tries to teach his son to be better god, while Atreus tries to teach his father how to be a better human."

The PlayStation game has received a two-season order at Amazon, with pre-production now underway in Vancouver.

Additional cast members include Max Parker as Heimdall, Ólafur Darri Ólafsson as Thor, Mandy Patinkin as Odin, Alastair Duncan as Mimir, and Danny Woodburn and Jeff Gulka as as brothers Brok and Sindri.

God of War series is likely to release in 2027 or 2028.
