Josh Johnson makes special announcement with Stephen Colbert

Josh Johnson has finally made his talk show debut on Stephen Colbert’s show, and made a special announcement.

The comedian took the opportunity to share the release date of his comedy special Symphony on HBO Max.

During the conversation on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, the 61-year-old started off by complimenting The Daily Show correspondent.

Listing off his accomplishments, Stephen said that since he performed stand up on the show, “you put out your second comedy special, went on a multi-city tour…there’s a lot of talk that 2026 is the year of Anne Hathaway, I’m hearing it might be the year of Josh Johnson.”

Josh expressed joy and gratitude over the praise and revealed that hosting and touring is fun but intimidating because there is more pressure as compared to something like The Daily Show.

The 36-year-old went to tell a funny story about a TSA mishap before navigating his first drumroll and announcing that the date for comedy special was Friday, May 22 of this year.

Notably, Josh recalled the time he was stopped at TSA for possessing brass knuckles that he knew he didn’t have, and eventually cleared up the misunderstanding that the rubber item In his bag was actually toe separators.
