Jacob Elordi faced severe injury while filming Wuthering Heights.

The Euphoria actor, who stars as Heathcliff in the upcoming film, partly went method to play the role more organically, however, he fell victim to freak accident that forced him physically to get into character.

In an interview with Esquire magazine, the Saltburn star recalled how his makeup artist Sian Miller, challenged him to go method while designing the scars from whip on his back.

Miller said, "If Daniel Day-Lewis was playing Heathcliff, he would have come in with scars."

Elordi in order to prove himself worthy of the character decided to "maim" himself over the weekend.

Explaining the full story, he shared that while filming Frankenstein, he had a lot of makeup on his toes and fingers, and by end of the day, he was often too tired to shower and wash it off.

However, while becoming Heathcliff he was covered in "mange and dirt" and decided to clean himself properly every night.

Elordi doing as he has planned went to take shower and "I leant back and my back seared into the steam knob and I stood up screaming; it tore up my back. When I went to work on Monday I had a second-degree burn."

The film's director recalled receiving a messege on first day of filming about Elordi being at the hospital. Which led to her initial thought of "'Oh my god, he's had a car accident.'"

However, the Australian artist assured her that he got shower burn, quipping, "It was actual Daniel Day-Lewis."

Wuthering Heights, starring Elordi with Margot Robbie is slated for release on February 14.
