The latest episode of America’s most awaited show Saturday Night Live was on air last weekend and comedian Dave Chappelle hosted the show's first episode following the hard-fought 2020 presidential election and with the news of Joe Biden's victory.

He hosted the show hours after Democratic nominee Joe Biden addressed the nation for the first time as president-elect.

After one of the most divisive presidential elections in US history, Dave Chappelle used his SNL hosting gig to encourage Americans to come together, and encouraged Americans "to find a way to forgive each other."

"You have to find a way to live your life," he said, adding, "You have to find a way to find joy."

In the show’s traditional monologue, Chappelle took the stage and delivered a 16-minute no-holds-barred standup set that cut to the heart of several important issues facing Americans today.

Chappelle previously hosted the comedy sketch show following the 2016 presidential election between President Donald Trump and former Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton. He had the same thing on his mind when he came out onto the SNL stage in 2016 and 2020, both times hosting the show right after the U.S. presidential election.

After four years, the comedian returned to host SNL, and explained why a new president alone won’t fix the country. He didn’t talk much on the victory of Joe Biden. Instead, he built to an argument that no president can save America if Americans don’t want to save one another.

"I would implore everybody who's celebrating to remember, it's good to be a humble winner. Remember when I was here four years ago? Remember how bad that felt? Remember that half the country right now still feels that way. Please remember that," he implored those happy about Biden's victory.

In his wide-ranging monologue, Chappelle also dove into the current COVID-19 pandemic, sarcastically noting that there was a "mass shooting every week" before the coronavirus pandemic.

"Thank God for COVID," he said, adding, "Something had to lock these murderous whites up, keep them in the house."

Chappelle eventually segued into President Donald Trump's handling of the pandemic, smoking a cigarette between his onstage jokes.

"Donald Trump's a wild guy," Chappelle said, recalling the moment that Trump suggested ingesting disinfectants as a potential cure for COVID-19 and stating that it was "hilarious" when the president contracted the disease.
