Sydney Sweeney, Sabrina Carpenter rumoured to join 'Mamma Mia 3'

Amanda Seyfried is pulling out all the stops for a potential third Mamma Mia movie, and she’s already dreaming up the ultimate blonde bombshell line-up. 

The 39-year-old Oscar-nominated actress, who played Sophie in the jukebox musical saga, revealed she’d love pop star Sabrina Carpenter and The Housemaid co-star Sydney Sweeney to join her on the Greek island.

Chatting with Entertainment Tonight at the Governors Awards, Seyfried hinted she’s confident the long-awaited sequel is happening. 

“Maybe I’m just naive, but I’m pretty sure Mamma Mia 3 is a done deal,” she said.

While Carpenter was previously rumoured to play Sophie’s daughter, the Mean Girls actress teased a different twist.

Seyfried said she enjoys playing a mom and would love to see Sophie with kids on-screen. 

She suggested Sophie could have a cousin, possibly played by Carpenter, with Sweeney also making an appearance.

In Time star added that many talented young actresses want to join, and she’s fully supportive.

Though the film hasn’t been officially confirmed, producer Judy Craymer has reportedly finished a script. 

“I just know the three dads are going to come back, and we still won’t know who the dad is because it doesn’t matter, she said."

The Euphoria actress, for her part, has admitted she’d love to join the Mamma Mia universe. 

“I’ve always wanted to go to Greece. I love Mamma Mia — something like that would be really fun,” she told Variety last year.
