Prince William allegedly issued a stark warning to his cousins Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie to pressure their father Prince Andrew to vacate Royal Lodge, or risk losing their royal titles.
The claim comes from journalist Emily Maitlis, who famously conducted the explosive 2019 Newsnight interview with Prince Andrew.
Speaking on The News Agents podcast, Maitlis said the Prince of Wales may have confronted the sisters about their father’s refusal to leave his lavish Windsor home.
“There was a meeting between Prince William and the princesses,” she revealed.
“He told them, ‘You have to get your dad to move out of Royal Lodge, otherwise we’ll start re-examining your own titles.’”
Despite public outrage over Andrew’s “peppercorn rent” arrangement at the 30-room estate, both Beatrice and Eugenie are reportedly still invited to the Royal Family’s Christmas celebrations.
Maitlis added that King Charles had planned a private confrontation with Andrew at Royal Lodge but cancelled after a media frenzy erupted outside the property.
