Kensington Palace has responded to claims that Prince William threatened to strip Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie of their royal titles unless their father, Prince Andrew, agreed to leave Royal Lodge.
The allegations surfaced after journalist Emily Maitlis claimed on The News Agents podcast that William, 43, had privately met with his cousins and warned that their princess titles could be “re-examined” if they didn’t persuade their father to vacate his 30-room Windsor home.
However, Kensington Palace swiftly dismissed the reports, confirming that no such meeting ever took place.
A spokesperson also clarified that William would have no authority to remove royal titles, as only the reigning monarch has that power.
The denial comes amid the ongoing Royal Lodge saga, which has dominated royal headlines for weeks.
Pressure has mounted on Prince Andrew, 65, to leave the property due to his controversial ties with the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
