Prince Andrew’s private life has once again come under the spotlight following revelations about a secret 72-hour trip to New York in October 2000, reportedly involving Playboy model Denise Martell.
According to Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York, a new biography by royal author Andrew Lownie, the Duke of York travelled to the US to attend Heidi Klum’s risqué “Hookers and Pimps” Halloween party at the Hudson nightclub alongside Ghislaine Maxwell.
Just days later, the royal reportedly met Martell during dinner in Los Angeles, where he “fed her a chocolate-covered strawberry” before inviting her to his £580-a-night suite at the Bel-Air Hotel.
Martell later claimed the pair spent “three nights together,” sharing “romantic moments” and keeping in touch after Andrew returned to the UK.
In a 2001 interview with The Mail on Sunday, she described a brief romance that lasted until 2005, and even revealed Andrew later became godfather to her son.
