Prince Andrew’s residence is set to come under heavy scrutiny as he is expected to be hauled in front of the parliament.
The prince has been posed with questions raised by the MPs regarding his living arrangements.
The idea to question Andrew has been backed by the UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
The former Duke shall be asked why he has lived rent-free at Royal Lodge in Windsor Park for more than two decades.
The Public Accounts Committee has announced that it will seek details from the Crown Estate Commissioners and HM Treasury regarding the prince’s long-term lease.
Committee chairman Sir Geoffrey Clifton-Brown confirmed a formal notice shall be sent in the coming days to ensure “the taxpayer is receiving best value for money.”
After Andrew’s announcement that he will be relinquishing his titles it emerged that he has been paying “peppercorn rent” on the property for 20 years.
The former duke made the decisive move to renounce his royal titles including the Duke of York on October 17.
Currently, public and media attention is fixated on the prince’s 30-room Windsor residence
