Prince William has been warned about the legal restrictions redarding Prince Andrew’s Royal Lodge residence.
Earlier today the former duke was posed with questions raised by MPs in Parliament regarding his residence in the lodge in exchange of paying “peppercorn rent”.
Legal experts have informed the Prince of Wales that any bid by King Charles to evict Andrew and Sarah Ferguson will be a “waste of time”, as per Daily Mail.
The experts have revealed that the former couple have a lease that guarantees them tenancy for another 50 years.
Top Lawyer Mike Hansom said “Any attempt to get Andrew out would be a waste of time as he bought the house on a 75-year lease agreement and therefore is legally entitled to live in the property until 2078.”
Andrew will have to agree with “mutual consent or can only be forced to leave”.
The idea to question Andrew has been backed by the UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
It is expected that a committe shall be formed to launch an inquiry into why the former Duke of York has lived rent-free at Royal Lodge in Windsor Park for more than two decades.
The situation has rolled out after Andrew took the decisive step to renounce his royal titles after public backlash.
