Prince Harry's scathing remark about Prince Andrew's scandal resurfaces
Harry said he was stunned that Andrew, embroiled in the Jeffrey Epstein scandal, continued to receive protection
Prince Harry has remained silent on Prince Andrew’s latest scandal, but past comments from his memoir Spare show the Duke of Sussex once took a sharp swipe at his disgraced uncle.
In his 2023 bestseller, Harry reflected on the period following his and Meghan Markle’s 2020 royal exit, revealing his anger over losing taxpayer-funded UK security.
He admitted being stunned that Andrew, then still embroiled in the Jeffrey Epstein scandal, continued to receive protection.
Harry wrote that he reassured Meghan they wouldn’t lose security, saying, “Never. Not in this climate of hate. Not after what happened to my mother. Also, not in the wake of my Uncle Andrew.”
He went on to note that Andrew “was embroiled in a shameful scandal, accused of sexual assault, and no one had suggested he lose his security,” adding pointedly, “Whatever grievances people had against us, sex crimes weren’t on the list.”
