As the number of working royals continues to dwindle, one young royal may prove to be an unexpected asset to Prince William when he becomes King: Lady Louise Windsor.

The 21-year-old daughter of Prince Edward and Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, is currently studying English at St Andrews University, the same university where Prince William met Princess Kate.

Royal experts suggest that once she graduates, Louise could step into a more public role to support the monarchy.

Royal biographer Christopher Wilson described Louise as a “dark horse contender” for the next generation of the royal frontline.

“Public demand for royal attendance is as high as ever,” he told the Daily Mail. “That leaves Lady Louise, who charms everyone she meets, as a decorative and useful asset to the royal team.”

Known for her grace, humility, and close bond with her late grandfather Prince Philip, Louise shares his love of carriage driving, a skill she’s mastered since childhood.
