Prince Andrew is facing renewed criticism after it was revealed he owns a fully-staffed palace in Abu Dhabi, gifted to him and Sarah Ferguson by the UAE’s ruling Royal Family, the House of Nahyan.
The revelation comes just days after the 65-year-old announced he would relinquish all remaining royal titles and honours, following the latest scandal linked to Jeffrey Epstein.
According to royal biographer Andrew Lownie, the Duke of York’s lavish palace in the UAE capital has long been kept quiet, although Andrew reportedly finds it “too peaceful” while Sarah “dislikes the heat.”
Meanwhile, MP Robert Jenrick has called for the disgraced royal to “vanish” and leave behind his 30-room Royal Lodge mansion in Windsor, where he has lived rent-free for over two decades.
“He has disgraced himself and embarrassed the Royal Family time and again,” Jenrick told reporters. “It’s time he went off to live privately, the public are sick of him.”
