British monarch King Charles mad ethe historic visit to Vatican City on October 23.
The visit marked a significant moment in history as the leader of Church of England and the Catholic Church prayed together in a joint service.
In the photographs shared form the event, King Charles can bee seen being welcomes by Pope Leo XIV after he arrived in the Vatican.
In the ceremony, the royal couple can be seen seated in front of Michelangelo’s “Last Judgement” which was painted between 1536 and 1541.
This took place 500 years after the Reformation, Church of England’s separation from the Vatican.
It has been revealed by The Telegraph that the royal couple will be honoured with new titles.
In the wake of the historic event, the king has been recognised as “Royal Confrater”.
The title is a tribute to centuries past when English Kings were responsible for providing upkeep of the tomb of St. Paul at the basilica.
The gesture was reciprocated by Charles for the Pope who has been given the title of “Papal Confrater of St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle.”
The British King also became the first head of the Anglican church to pray in public with a Pope.
