The Royal Family are facing renewed criticism as a new poll reveals that the majority of Britons believe they have mishandled the Prince Andrew scandal.
According to an Ipsos survey of over 1,000 adults between October 20 and 21, 43 percent of respondents said the Royal Family dealt with the Duke of York “badly” following years of controversy over his friendship with Jeffrey Epstein.
Just 23 percent thought the situation was handled well, while another 23 percent said neither well nor badly.
The poll comes after Prince Andrew, 65, announced last week that he will no longer use any of his royal titles or honours, including his Duke of York title, following “discussions with the King.”
The decision marks the latest fallout from Andrew’s association with Epstein, which has plagued the monarchy for years.
Despite the mounting pressure, the disgraced royal has repeatedly denied all allegations against him.
Meanwhile, Downing Street confirmed MPs will not be granted time to debate Andrew’s conduct, with officials saying Parliament should focus on “more important issues.”
Still, public dissatisfaction highlights a lingering crisis for the monarchy — with the so-called “Prince Andrew problem” showing no signs of fading.
